Plumper looking skin in 28 seconds why testers say Magic Cream feels like facelift in a jar

Plumper looking skin

I usually hate when my favourite products are changed. Why, oh why, would you mess with a good thing? The last time I liked a reformulation was when Estée Lauder changed the 30-year-old formula of Double Wear. That made me love it even more. But most of the time, I think they get worse. Or maybe I just don’t like change?

Last year, I was invited to an event to learn all about the new things Charlotte Tilbury was bringing out in 2026. We learned all the tea, from the Airbrush Flawless Blur Concealer to the products we can’t tell you about. And in that tea was the news that the brand’s fans were going to have to get used to a new version of Magic Cream. People in the room gasped and screamed in shock.

But the brand insisted that this new cream was even better than the old one, with more actives, a patented complex, and clinical studies that would blow our minds. I loved the original Magic Cream. It was such a good moisturiser that models would ask Charlotte backstage what this unmarked, unreleased product was. It was one of my favourite night creams because it made my skin feel plump and hydrated when I woke up in the morning. So, of course, I had to try out the new formula to see if it still belonged in my nighttime skin care routine.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream costs £54 at Charlotte Tilbury, £54 at John Lewis, and £195 at Sephora.

A review of Charlotte Tilbury’s New Magic Cream

Skin problems: uneven skin tone and skin that isn’t as elastic as it used to be

I’ve used this cream for three months, going through two pots back to back, and I can honestly say it’s still one of my favourite night creams. In fact, I like it more than the old formula. I think my skin looks and feels better with this new version than it did before. Before, it was just a nice cream that made my skin feel better by morning.

I think this is mostly because of the new “supercharged formula,” which has the first Recoverstem Peptide on the market. This has more than 100 peptides that help skin cells keep renewing themselves. It’s smart, and the brand says it works on skin in just 28 seconds, which, in my opinion, really shows how magical the product’s name is.

Almost done with my second pot

After using it for two months, I think my skin looks and feels great. It glows without makeup, feels firm and bouncy, and that’s why it’s still one of my favourite night creams. Four out of five testers in clinicals agreed that it’s like a “facelift in a jar,” and I can see why. It won’t get rid of deep wrinkles or collagen loss, but it does give your skin a much-needed boost of life. I noticed this after just a few weeks of using it, and I’m now on my second jar.

The brand loves to talk about how the new formula is great for both day and night because it works as a primer and a moisturiser. But for me, I only use it at night. It doesn’t have SPF, so I’d have to put on another layer before putting on my makeup, which is too much for me. I like an SPF moisturiser better because it means fewer layers.

The price is definitely on the higher end of the beauty spectrum, but with the new science-based formula, I think it’s worth it more than ever to buy this cream.
