Reviewed: ultra precise brow pencil mimics natural hairs perfectly and stays put all day

pencil mimics natural hairs

I found pictures of myself from early 2024 on my phone last week while I was on my way home from work. Wow, I looked so young. It was pretty clear what had changed when I looked at those old pictures next to newer ones: my eyebrows.

I’ve become very picky about my arches in the past year. I’ve noticed that the best brow pencil can completely lift and shape my face. I’ve tried a lot of tools, but the Modern Brow Definer and Modern Brow Gel from Vieve are the newest ones that you should pay attention to. When used together they should give you brows that are softly defined and lifted but still look natural.

Review of Vieve Modern Brow Definer

First up is the Modern Brow Definer, which could be the best brow pencil I’ve ever used. With a 1mm tip yes I measured it, it’s meant to look like real brow hairs. Even though an ultra fine nib might sound scary I was surprised at how easy and natural it is to use.

Use a spoolie to brush your eyebrows from the inside corner to the outside corner. Then, to map out your shape, line up the start of your brow with the edge of your nose and the end with the outer corner of your eye. Make small guide marks with the pencil before filling in areas that are thin with light, feathery strokes that follow the natural direction of your brow hairs.

Using the colour Dark Brown

Jamie Genevieve the founder of Vieve, says that the ultra fine tip works best when used in a certain way: “I like to use the very tip of the pencil to sketch tiny strokes through the front of the brow, then switch to soft shading under the arch to lift and define.”

The formula is also very important. It has plate shaped powders in it, like those in setting powders, that help the colour glide on smoothly and build up slowly. This means that you are much less likely to end up with harsh, blocky 2016 brows burrr. Waxes and light oils keep the pencil flexible so it never feels stiff when you draw with it.

Review of Vieve Modern Brow Gel

The Modern Brow Gel deserves just as much credit as the Modern Brow Definer even though it might seem like the star of the show. Let’s be honest: there are bad brow gels out there You know the ones thick sticky and hard. This formula is the exact opposite It’s light and flexible, so it easily brushes through my brows and moves with my face.

Jamie says to use short strokes: “I use short, light motions instead of one big sweep. This helps me put each hair exactly where I want it.” I lightly press my fingertip over the front of the brow once the gel has set to keep that lifted look.

The thin spoolie spreads the gel evenly, letting you get really precise and making sure that every hair is in the right place. What did you end up with Arches that are softly laminated and still look natural.

Vieve Modern Brows: General thoughts

The end result looks like my real eyebrows. Instead of something that looks like it was drawn on, think of thick, fluffy, and natural The ultra fine pencil helps me make shapes with tiny hair like strokes, and the brow gel gives my brows a soft, laminated look. I love that I can be very picky, but I can also apply everything more quickly and still get a great result.
